ZWrestleTalk's WWE columnist Dom Bouchard talks about the excitement surrounding WWE's new roster and showcasing new talent. This is the new breed. WWE's New Guard: Dawning of a New EraIt is finally here!!! The moment we all have been waiting for. The passing of the torch, the dawn of the new era in the WWE. No more older guys clinging to the top spots like Big Show,Kane,HHH, and Taker. Plus all the old guard off tv finally. The time is here, and the reason I didn't mention Cena and Orton is because they still have a lot to offer. They will fit nicely with the Sami Zayn, AJ Styles, and Cesaro there is no doubt about it. Also beating Cena will still mean something. Same thing with "The Viper" Randy Orton, a multiple time world champion. It hit me last night watching WWE Monday Night RAW that this is the new WWE I have been dreaming of for such a long time. From start to finish it was filled with exciting and fresh storylines and matches .Enzo and Cass are absolutely over big time and can work. The Bullet Club's Gallows and Anderson are legit badasses and carry an air of big time superstars.Their interactions with AJ and Reigns is intriguing to say the least. Kevin Owens looks to be on the verge of making a true enemy of Shane McMahon. KO is a wonderful heel and Chris Jericho is looking better than ever. Jericho gets better with age. AJ Styles is slowly going over as the number face in the company as Roman slowly turns heel. Dean Ambrose is so cool and so reliable in the ring. Sami Zayn shows every week that he is the best wrestler in the world. The Miz is absolutely nailing it with Maryse as the most annoying heel and is finally getting the spotlight he so deserves. Baron Corbin is the new monster heel. Convincing and his finisher is the best in the business. Dolph Ziggler is a true team player. Apollo Crews is introduced perfectly and he will be a big time money player. Imagine a feud with Neville for the US Title. Zack Ryder is becoming relevant and a fan favorite again. The Vaudevillains are making an impact. The Usos are the best team in the company, but could benefit from a heel turn. The New Day is the hottest act in the company right now.Cesaro looks poised to finally become a main event player .Seth Rollins is close to a return. Imagine Cesaro vs Rollins for the WWE World Title. Bray Wyatt and his family as faces will be so over. Bray has the potential to be a main eventer given the right push.Sadly being injured will derail those plans for now. There are still a few issues though that I would love to see being addressed. Kalisto should remain to work with Sin Cara in the Lucha Dragons. The US title should be defended on Smackdown exclusively and I think a guy like Sami Zayn could be a great champion and guarantee a 4 star match every week on Smackdown. Ryback is another guy that deserves better. He could be a great opponent for Corbin. Sheamus is a very reliable big guy .Rusev should be in the hunt for the IC title. Alberto is a talented veteran that could help get younger guys get over. Cody Rhodes is also another guy in need of a revamp. The tag team division is now on fire! Primo and Epico will be back soon to join New Day ,Vaudevillains, Enzo and Cass, League of Nations ,Lucha Dragons, Usos, Dudleyz, Ascension, Gallows and Anderson, Golden Truth,Social Outcast. That's a deep division. The women division is deeper than ever. The only thing to do now is to stay the course and organically let the guys get over. The future is now finally. ZWrestleTalk's Dom Bouchard gives his review of WrestleMannia 32 DISCLAIMER: THIS REVIEW WAS WRITTEN BEFORE LAST NIGHT'S MONDAY NIGHT RAW Kalisto (Champ) vs Ryback Solid match and Ryback dominated 90 percent of it. Kalisto's Wrestlemania gear was awesome. Kalisto retains with the Salida del Sol. Grade C Total Divas vs Team B.A.D and Blonde Brie Bella's swan song and thank you Brie. A lot of talented wrestlers. Emma is a real solid wrestler.Team Total Divas wins! Grade C Uso's vs Dudleyz Boyz Almost a squash! Guess it could be the last time we see the Dudley Boyz. Sad way to go and even being humliated after the match. Double splash through the tables. Usos can now move on to feud with Enzo and Cass! Grade D Dolph Ziggler vs Sin Cara vs Stardust vs Zack Ryder vs Sami Zayn vs The Miz vs Kevin Owens (Champ) What a way to kick off the show! Seven extraordinary performer and Sin Cara was amazing. Sami Zayn is the best in the business. KO moves like a cruiserweight. Awesome Dusty tribute with the ladder. What a tremendous performance by the seven competitors. Zack Ryder pulled off one of the biggest upsets ever.Woo Woo Woo. New IC Champ: Zack Ryder Grade A New Day vs League of Nations What an entrance by the New Day. Coming out of a giant Booty O's cereal box. Dallas loves the New Day and as expected a very solid match with six talented superstars. Rusev and Sheamus are extremely stiff. Another upset as Barrett bullhammerd Xavier and a brogue kick later by Sheamus put away Xavier. Then as the League was gloating Shawn Michaels,Mick Foley, and Stone Cold came to the ring and kicked their asses! A wonderful WrestleMania moment. Austin looked awesome! Grade B Aftermath A+ AJ Styles vs Chris Jericho Another potential match of the year candidate.Y2J never looked this good! AJ is a tremendous asset for the WWE. Jericho won with the codebreaker after a 20 minute action packed gem! Grade A Brock Lesnar vs Dean Ambrose A wild match as one would expect. Dean did all he could but Brock is a machine. I honestly think no one can beat the beast. Very entertaining match. No upset here Brock wins with a F5 on chairs. Grade B Charlotte (Champ) vs Becky Lynch vs Sasha Banks Extremely entertaining contest between the three most talented women on the roster.Sasha was very stiff and Becky is so dynamic . Extremely beautiful moonsault outside the ring by Charlotte.Charlotte wins the gigure on Becky Grade A Shane McMahon vs Undertaker Slow start, but Shane jumping off the cage was the craziest stunt ever! Taker looked good and Shane was awesome. Taker winning clean after a tombstone. Grade B+ Andre the Giant Battle Royal Besides Baron Corbin and Big Show no one stood a chance. Great way to start a WWE career.Corbin winning was a nice choice! Grade D The Rock comes out and announces Dallas broke the WWE attendance record over 100,000 people (1).Then the Wyatts came out and a match followed with The Rock beating Eric Rowan in 6 seconds. The Wyatts were about to attack him but here comes John "Superman" Cena. This man is a machine. Great wrestlemania moment with these two icons hugging it out. Grade A (1)- The actual attendance to the event was 94,000. WWE created a false number but it did beat out the Pontiac Silverdome's record of 93,000 from WrestleMania III. Triple H (Champ) vs Roman Reigns A slow start with a very hostile crowd for the juggernaut. Triple H outwrestled Roman early until he fought back and made it a very evenly fought battle. A spear to Stephanie got a huge reaction and towards the end of the match, Roman had won back half of the crowd. Superman punch and a spear New WWE champion Roman Reigns. Grade B + Editor's Note from Triple Z: After examining all of Dom's grades. Dom's overall grade for WrestleMania would be a 78% which would be a C+. Follow the Writer: @domghosthunter

One of the most energetic tag teams I have ever seen is Jordan and Gable. Gable reminds me of a young Kurt Angle and JJ reminds me of a mix of Shelton Benjamin and Brock Lesnar. What a match! Non stop action, and Dash and Dawson are so great at being old school heels. Those complaining that they botched a few spots . Remember you can't botch a move when you do the same boring safe sh*t all the time like the teams on the main roster do. It was an amazing action packed contest. American Alpha are so over and so talented it's absolutely incredible. Their move set is so fresh and fast paced. Finally new NXT Tag Team Champions American Alpha. Grade A+++ Baron Corbin vs Austin Aries Very entertaining match. I truly love the Lone Wolf and Aries is a little bit of a pit bull. Very good matchup and very cool spot when Aries got out of the end of days and rolled up Corbin. Winner Austin Aries Grade B Sami Zayn vs Shinsuke Nakamura Where do I begin? I had goosebumps on top of goosebumps! Ole ole ole ole , No amazing, awesome, or extraordinary can describe what we witnessed in this match. We witnessed history, a masterpiece! Wrestling fans will remember forever. Wow, the entrance of Shinsuke Nakamura is so fresh and unique. Sami got a hero's welcome and what a tremendous effort on both parts. It looked like a shoot as Sami was more aggressive than usual. I am sure I am not the only one wondering why guys accept to move on to the main roster when NXT is so much better and where they are allowed to rise. Money right? Dang! Sami Zayn is NXT Match of the year? Nooo...Match of the Decade! Winner Nakamura after a back and forth masterpiece! Grade A ++++++++++ Asuka vs Bayley (Champ) A very good action packed stiff match. Asuka was on fire. Bayley was also very good. Upset and new champ Asuka. Grade B Finn Balor (Champ) vs Samoa Joe Extremely aggressive Demon. Balor busted Joe wide open! They were beating the living hell out of each other. I don't remember a match quite this stiff. Loved it and they made it different than the match they had in London. Two pros with great chemistry. Big time feel historic show .Winner and still champion is Finn Balor. Grade A Follow @domghosthunter Follow @ZWrestleTalk ZWrestleTalk's Creator Triple Z gives his take on WrestleMania 32 and why it ended a run of having great WrestleMania's. Let's just get right into it. Last night's show was the wackiest WrestleMania I have ever watched! It had it's moments of entertainment but overall failed at making me interested into new story lines. The event also ended a streak of having good endings. Let's take a look at a couple past Mania's and their endings! WrestleMania had a hot streak starting with WrestleMania 28. WrestleMania 25 was boring and then WrestleMania 26 was much better. WrestleMania 27 was lazy. That's why WrestleMania 28 started the hot streak for WrestleMania. Maybe I'm bias because I was in attendance for it. WrestleMania 28. We saw a "Once in a Lifetime" clash between The Rock and John Cena. Daniel Bryan lost in 16 seconds creating a unforgettable moment and a fantastic way to start off the show. Randy Orton and Kane had a match and surprisingly it was good! Big Show got his real WrestleMania moment beating the cocky Intercontinental Champ Cody Rhodes. Kelly Kelly and Maria Menounos fought Eve and Beth Phoenix… Yeah maybe we could nit pick that but that was a small part of the event! Jim Ross joined the commentary team during the main event match of Undertaker VS Triple H inside Hell in a Cell. The match was incredible to watch especially having Shawn Michaels as the referee. When I went to this Mania, the people I was with were not Wrestling fans. After this match they were mesmerized at the talent that went into it. Team Johhny defeated Team Teddy which was still a interesting scenario and it also created the new storyline of "People Power" which was somewhat entertaining to watch. The Battle of the Best in the World also happened as CM Punk took on Chris Jericho in a classic. Then the main event stole the show and it was awesome to see The Rock's hometown crowd jumping up and down after he just beat John Cena. It was the energy and the cheers which made the ending spectacular! Unlike this years WrestleMania where there was no cheering at the end at all. We will talk more about that later! WrestleMania 28 started a hot streak for exciting WrestleMania's. The show was so good it started "The Night After Mania" RAW. Which we saw Brock Lesnar make his return to WWE. WrestleMania would return to New York for WrestleMania 29. The event would live up to expectations.
WrestleMania 30 was a example of fixing the show for your audience would go home happy. Major events happened during this time. CM Punk would walk out of the WWE leaving Triple H without a WrestleMania opponent (at least they thought) Batista would make a return to the WWE after a long time away. WWE fans would turn on the product after Batista won the Royal Rumble over likes of CM Punk and Daniel Bryan. This also lead to CM Punk walking out on WWE. "The Yes Movement" would be born and Daniel Bryan would rise to superstardom. Fans didn't want to see Randy Orton VS Batista and they let WWE know it. WrestleMania 30 was under a lot of pressure but it became more interesting as the show was getting closer. Hulk Hogan would return to play the role of "host" and he would have a epic moment with The Rock and Stone Cold. The rest of the card I will break down below!
WrestleMania 30 was spectacular! The ending was fantastic with everyone doing the "Yes" chant. It was just a entertaining show from start to finish! After the success of Daniel Bryan's underdog storyline. WWE attempted to create a new underdog storyline with former Shield member Roman Reigns. Fans were at odds with having Roman Reigns main event WrestleMania 31, due to his lack of promo skills and okay in-ring ability. Daniel Bryan recently cleared from a injury was still a fan favorite. When Daniel Bryan returned to WWE this time he was treated like a mid-carder. Working matches against Dolph Ziggler and Sheamus. Fans clamored to have Bryan back into a Main Event position. WWE then made a match at Fastlane, Roman Reigns VS Daniel Bryan, winner would go onto face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. WWE fans were ecstatic! David VS Goliath. Daniel Bryan, the hero of WWE taking on the Beast who killed Undertaker's legacy. It was the main event of main events. That wouldn't happen though… Bryan would lose at Fastlane and fans started to revolt once again. WWE this time didn't care as they wanted to prove us wrong. WrestleMania 31 would also feature Sting who has never had a match in WWE would finally get his WrestleMania moment kinda… Let's take a look at the rest of the card below.
WrestleMania 31 was another example of WWE having to fix the card for the fans would be happy. They did it in the way of surprise. Hate to Say it: WrestleMania 32 ends the hot streak of great WrestleMania'sI hate being that guy who says the show wasn't that good. After looking at previous and recent WrestleMania's in comparison it wasn't that good! WrestleMania 32 might of had extraordinary hype to live up to due to it being in a huge stadium. Not even WWE fanboys who have dreams of working there someday could say it was a good show from start to finish. It wasn't. I have always been a fan of the philosophy of the quote below. "It doesn't matter the results of the event. We will still watch Monday night" The quote above is 100% true. Eva Marie could of been added into the Women's Championship match and win the championship. We still would watch Monday night! Roman Reigns wins the WWE Championship. We will still watch tonight!
WWE realizes that and thats why they went into WrestleMania overconfident with Reigns/HHH they didn't care about the outcome they all know we are not going to stop watching. What the bigger issue of all of this is. WE KNEW THE RESULT TO THE MAIN EVENT SINCE JANUARY. When you already know the result to something is it going to make it more entertaining. No it won't make it entertaining there was no swerve. WWE was swerve happy the whole night and then the two matches that need swerves do not get swerves… "Well we all knew Daniel Bryan would win at WM30!!!!!" That's not true at all. WWE built it up to where it looked like he was going to lose a couple times throughout that match. That didn't even come close in the main event last night. The show had no bright spots that could overcome the darkness of the bizarreness. WWE didn't progress any story lines and it was just weird to watch. I'm going to review the matches.
WWE was over-confident about WrestleMania 32 and then they booked the event extremely bad. The show was out of sorts, and the event had no direction. Charlotte winning doesn't make her more of a heel. It just doesn't make sense when Sasha Banks clearly deserved to have that moment. Roman Reigns won't get better if he turns heel. Nothing can change his skill or persona. It was fun writing this look back about previous WrestleMania's and it was fun giving some thoughts on this years. Hopefully tonight's RAW blows us away. If it doesn't then oh well... Follow me on Twitter @TripleZ_87 Follow @ZWrestleTalk |
