 Were on the road to WrestleMania the show is only two weeks away. But it feels like there is no excitement at all for the event. I wonder why? I'm still thrown off that WWE decided to put this WrestleMania in March but you know I guess its fine but its still very odd to me. In this article I'm going to compare this coming years WrestleMania card to the cards of the last 3 WrestleMania's. Lets check out this years card!!!
WrestleMania 31 WWE Championship Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar IC Title Ladder Match Daniel Bryan VS Dolph Ziggler VS R-Truth VS Bad News Barrett VS Dean Ambrose VS Stardust VS Luke Harper. Sting VS Triple H US title match John Cena VS Rusev Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Then just look at the number of part timers. technically its a total of 5 part timers on the card. So 3 years later the rate of part timers at Mania does go down. I feel like this event will deliver it always does but wheres the other matches. You got Sting and HHH which will be a thriller. Even though there part timers it will go down as a historic match. The Ladder match will be good but some of those guys deserve single matches but If this gets us out of Sheamus and Daniel Bryan. I will take it. Just where is that classic feud match? The one where we thought Goldust would fight his brother Stardust. But No, WWE official thought it wouldn't go over well with fans. Umm… Yeah it would go over well with fans. This could've been the start of the return of Cody Rhodes. WWE lacks one thing. CREATIVE!!! Look at the talent and look at NXT. Just use that platform of creating story lines on the main roster? Also Vince might not be into this hire Writers who write about Wrestling (not talking about me). Hire people that have watched Wrestling and understand your audience. Stop hiring the failed Reality TV writers who wrote one episode for Keeping up with the Kardashians. Also "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyzko is going into the Hall of Fame. I'm happy about his induction but why do a Breaking News before RAW???? Why not reveal who it is live on RAW. Where is that element of surprise. Another thing that WWE lacks is the surprise element. The last good surprise was Sting. Thats a really good surprise. I wish they would think of stuff like that more often. What do you want WWE to start doing? As WWE and Samoa Joe negotiate a contract. I think its a perfect time to take a look back at his wrestling career. Joe graduated wrestling school in 1999. Where after his debut he was signed to a former developmental affiliate of WWE called UPW. Joe feuded with a guy you might of heard of him named John Cena. John Cena was going under the name "The Prototype". As you might've guessed the feud was short lived. Joe appeared on WWE program Jakked Joe then went on to become the longest reigning UPW champions ever. Ever then in 2001. Shocking news happened when Jim Ross and Bruce Pritchard told him this. "You have no future in pro wrestling" - Jim Ross and Bruce Pritchard Well that ended his time in WWE's developmental. Joe moved onto Japan and kept on practicing his craft. Joe then in 2002 went to a company that showcased the best in the Indies. Joe went to Ring of Honor. Joe would face many greats like Christopher Daniels, Nigel McGuiness, Low Ki, Jay Lethal, Austin Aries, CM Punk, Kenta Kobashi (CM Punk), Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan, and Chris Hero. Joe rised to stardom in Ring of Honor very quickly. Becoming champion and having many classic showdowns with CM Punk. Joe accomplished all he could accomplish in Ring of Honor. Samoa Joe decided to go to another new company on the rise that company was TNA. Joe came into TNA with a monster type winning streak. This is wear Samoa Joe was dubbed the "Samoan Submission Machine". Samoa Joe was a founding father of the X Division in my eyes. Showing that not only Cruiserweights could compete at a high octane level. Triple threat matches with AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels would put not only Joe but TNA on the spot. Joe once again would rise and win the TNA X Division title. Joe would reach the mountain top of TNA only once holding there most prestigious belt. Which is very odd because Samoa Joe worked with TNA between 2005-2015 and he only got 1 heavyweight title reign. Joe was member of both Main Event Mafia's. Joe teamed with Magnus and even had a short feud with Magnus. In 2014 Joe remerged as a threat in the X division capturing the X Division championship only to vacant the title and take time off. Joe would return as a member of MVP's BDC. After that Joe's contract was up and both parties didn't come to a new agreement. What does the future hold? Well Joe is going to make a return to Ring of Honor. He will be fighting Kyle O Reilly and ACH in the two events that he is booked.
Joe is also negotiating with WWE. WWE most likely will give him a short stint in NXT. Before calling him up to the Main roster. Joe's career has been a very long and successful one. Jon Stewart To be honest I never knew who Jon Stewart was until Seth Rollins called him out. Also I don't think he is a big enough celebrity to have a WrestleMania moment. Well his promo skills are better then most of the roster. Him and Rollins will lead into some sort of altercation at Mania. Seth Rollins The future doesn't just have a Daily Show talk host on his hands. He also has to look out for The Viper Randy Orton. Even though Randy is back in the Authority he doesn't like Seth still. The feud has been hyped for awhile Orton VS Rollins at WrestleMania. Tyson Kidd and Cesaro There recent title reign has took me by surprise! I'm excited for Cesaro and Tyson Kidd they should do tremendous. It looks like at WrestleMania there might be a 6 Man Tag match and winners get the Tag Team Title. It would be the first time we see a inter gender title match since SummerSlam 2009 where Santino Marella and Beth Phoenix won the IC Championship and Women's Championship against Mickie James and Kofi Kingston. I want to see this team take on the Ascension though and just have a crazy good Wrestling match that gets the Ascension over! My next topic is on the Ascension. The Ascension Just wow.I mean why do you take this tag team everybody was dying to see on your main roster. A team everybody wanted to see make an impact. They aren't even undefeated anymore which is good and bad in many ways. WWE needs to get there acts together on the Ascension because there is not such thing as a do over in the Sport Entertainment world. The long arching twitter feud between Adam Rose and Zack Ryder These two just want to get noticed. It makes no sense at all. Yes I get it. They have been having some good war of words on twitter. I expect nothing to come out of this and I think Zack Ryder will finally get fired after WrestleMania. The Awkward Hall of Fame class… No disrespect to any individual who puts there life on the line for our entertainment but some of these picks this year don't have the logic to back them up.
Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar A topic that many wrestling writers have been talking about the Main Event of WresltMania. Many rumors are flying around will Brock go back to UFC? He was at UFC184. Did Roman Reigns actually fail the drug test and WWE is covering it up and is that the reason he walked out of RAW and go into a debate with Vince McMahon? What else could Brock be so frustrated about? Realistically I can't see these two liking each other and having a good ole fun technical wrestling match. I can see this match being a full out brawl!!! Daniel Bryan WWE got caught flat footed on the Daniel Bryan situation. Bryan was the Main Event at last years WrestleMania now he's going to be in a Intercontinental Championship match. It's not logical he should be in a high profile main event feud like Rusev. Don't say Sheamus. Sheamus is so stale with the audience. Just very boring and WWE already has many brutal fighters that like to fight. I just don't know why WWE doesn't plan better. Stardust: One thing Cody Rhodes is spectacular at is character and he can deliver a great unique promo. I feel like he's going to beat Goldust soon. Paul Heyman This man has been the backbone of WWE Television for the last two years if he leaves then WWE will have to create a new backbone. A new promo specialist. A new advocate. A new person who could go from one storyline to another to another. This could be major loss if Heyman decides to leave. Well thats it for Sunday Smackdown Volume 2. I hope you enjoyed the read. But before we go I'm going to answer some of Larry's (a Commenters) questions. How soon before the Ascension are "future endeavored"? Not for awhile still young and there too good to get cut. You never know but there is many wrestlers that I would fire before the Ascension come to mind. What wrestler who had a short run in WWE but never really got pushed? Hands down. Scotty Goldman. He had it all a move set, look, could get over with fans. Others could be Derrick Bateman who became EC3 in TNA and is a rising star. Also Maxine from old NXT. She is now Catrina on Lucha Underground and is a pretty hot manager. Will Samoa Joe work NXT matches? Well Joe is currently working with Ring of Honor. Joe is only working certain dates in March though. I think now that Triple H runs NXT. I think if WWE gives a offer that Joe thinks is reasonable. It could all workout. It really depends on Joe will he think its a slap in the face to go to NXT. I don't think it is. I think he would like it better would like that crowd, the wrestlers and everybody involved. Now what will they rename them. No, they won't name him Joey Samoa. Most likely they will do the Kevin Steen treatment. For fans can still do Fight Owens Fight.
